Yes, the questions are coming in for the all-important long weekend. So, what’s in store?

Next week overall is looking very cool, with an extended southwesterly airflow, with associated cloud, showers and even snow about the higher hills and ranges.

We may even be looking at some impressive thunderstorms and rather volatile conditions for a time on Tuesday afternoon. Source your town page for specific details.

Conditions slowly start to improve and warm up on Friday afternoon as south-westerlies make the transition to the nor-east about Coastal Canterbury & the Plains.

Over the weekend it’s looking relatively fine and mild across the Canterbury Plains & Coast with variable high cloud cover and pleasant temperatures.  An active system in the Tasman will bring heavy rain to the Main Divide & Canterbury Headwaters and strong to gale force NW winds about the ranges & high country.

Please note we’re still 8 days out and can expect slight changes. Remember to keep up to date with our ‘Live Weather Feed’ for ongoing coverage and our town pages, which provide the only moderated long-range content available for Canterbury. Take extreme care sourcing computer generated content which hasn’t bee moderated.
