RACE DAY FORCEAST – SATURDAY 13th.

Kumara – a fine and cool start, around 9-10 degrees; chance of some early low cloud. Light winds. Dry.

Goats Pass – mostly fine and sunny. Areas of low cloud & fog possible about the valley early on. Nor-west winds developing through the day 15-25km/hr gusts about Goats Pass by late morning. Remaining dry. Freezing Level: 2900m early on, rising to 3500m by midday.

Canterbury Plains – mostly fine and sunny. Areas of morning cloud, then sunny, with occasional cloudy periods during the afternoon from the east. Fresh and persistent nor-easterly winds (25-35km/hr) across the Plains; especially about Christchurch, gusts up to 35-40km/hr.  Temperatures 21-24 degrees across the Canterbury Plains, around 20 degrees about eastern suburbs during the afternoon. Remaining dry. High pressure.
