EVENT FORECAST FOR SATURDAY

An improving day early, in regards to overhead conditions. Early spill over showers clearing 6-8am, then mostly sunny, with occasional cloudy periods. 

Temperatures

Around 2-4 degrees before 9am and climbing to 5-7 degrees from mid to late morning. The associated wind-chill will make it very chilly at times in  exposed/higher sections of Mt John.

Winds

Strong cold west/nor-westerlies (40-60km/hr) gale about the tops of Mt John, with gusts up to 80km/hr, tending slightly lighter south-westerly into the afternoon.

Rainfall chances.

Around 40-50% before 8am.

Other considerations

Early spill over rain chances and winds will be strong through the day, especially about exposed sections.
