Mt Lyford Alpine Village forecast

We have a brand-new addition to our service, with the new addition of Mt Lyford Village in North Canterbury. This will include a 1-7 day forecast for this unique and special part of Canterbury.

At around 600m above sea level Mt Lyford Village experiences a range of weather, with an alpine climate. Mt Lyford Village receives some of New Zealand’s more significant snowfalls, especially around the 500m-700m altitude.

The Mt Lyford Village forecast will provide a great source of information for skiers and recreational users all year round. It will also serve the people working & living in this area, around Waiau, the Inland Road (Waiau to Kaikoura) and off course local residents in the village.

We’re now working on providing a webcam, which will showcase the scenery year-round. We hope to have this up & running by the end of July; so yes, we’ll capture some stunning snowy scenes this winter. Live weather data is also in our plans.
