💧☁️LOW FROM THE SUB -TROPICS HEADING OUR WAY = LOW CLOUD & MOISTURE.

Our stagnant weather of late continues over the next few days with a low set to feed in low cloud, drizzle and even heavier rain for more northern parts of the region from later tomorrow through until Wednesday morning.

➡️ Our main focus remains the Kaikoura District where the more heavier and significant rainfall totals may occur; especially about the ranges and with higher freezing levels about the Seaward Kaikoura Ranges we can expect more rainfall in the catchment area.

➡️We may see some road disruptions about the Kaikoura District - keep up to date with NZ Transport Agency - South Island from midday Tuesday through until midday Wednesday. Source your town page for specific totals and rainfall totals and keep up to date with our Live Weather Feed for all the latest information.

💧BROAD & DEEPENING LOW HEADING OUR WAY – RAIN, POSSIBLE HEAVY FALLS FOR NORTHERN PARTS OF THE REGION.

Good morning Canterbury. We’re a little stuck in between systems currently; the end result is more of this rather stagnant and uneventful weather.

We do have some changes on the way and kick off is later tonight with a low moving south over central New Zealand ‘feeding’ in low cloud, drizzle and rain to parts of Canterbury on Tuesday & Wednesday.

💧The heavier & more sustained falls will occur about the Kaikoura District by Tuesday evening, while many areas and towns in South & Mid Canterbury will largely escape any precipitation at all.

🌡Milder nor-west winds arrive on Thursday pushing our temperature back into the high teens and early twenties to end the week.

💧We can also expect significant rain fall about the Main Divide & Headwaters later this week.

lovely sunny day down on the plains

Need rain or drizzle. Been waiting since Friday arvo & still waiting in Ch - Ch. It's still quite dry.

We need convection in town at least one day guys c’mon!

💧A GLOOMY DAY FOR MOST - Yes, light rain and drizzle is affecting large parts of Canterbury this morning and will linger through the day.

🌡Our cool southerly flow will confine temperatures to the early teens; while some our our higher alpine villages may struggle to double digits.

💧❄ There is also the risk of some heavier falls about the Interior, north of around Oxford this afternoon - low chance of thunder and hail. Any precipitation will fall as snow to around 1300m about the ranges.
