HOT WEEKEND LINED UP – BUT IS TOO EARLY TO HIT THE BEACH??

ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH THIS WEEKEND?

Sure we’ve experienced warm temperatures about the Mackenzie Country and inland basins through November, but this weekend it moves up a notch or two in regards to heat across the wider Canterbury region. The mercury is set to push into the mid to high twenties for coastal areas and early thirties about inland basins and areas. We’ll be searching out those popular beaches and water ‘holes’ .

While we’re already into more January & February weather patterns and associated temperatures, our sea temperatures are always a tad slower to adapt and catch on.

If it’s still a little cool for your liking and you’d rather wait, hang in there! It’s a positive start to our summer season, with large dominating high pressure systems, come January and February our sea temperatures will be slightly above average ( 1-2 degrees ), perfect for hitting the beach & one of our warmest swimming seasons in a number of years.
